On a hot summer day, AgeWell New York staff members packed up and headed out to the Charles B. Wang Community Center in Chinatown to promote health education, and support affordable quality health care. The Good Health Day (GDH) fair was a huge success with thousands of participants taking part in free screenings for diabetes, cholesterol and hypertension just to name a few.
According to the Community Center, the purpose of GHD is to provide free screenings, for health problems that are prevalent in the Asian American community. The CBWCHC’s clinical departments also offered health activity booths that addressed oral health, cardiovascular health as well as pediatrics and women’s health. AgeWell New York set up its own booth to educate visitors on how managed long term care can help the chronically ill and disabled remain living in their homes safely with coordinated home health care services.
