On August 5, 2020, the Department of Financial Services issued a letter* regarding “Charges for Personal Protective Equipment by Participating Providers”.
Members may not be charged for personal protective equipment (PPE) used by providers. Members may only be charged the plan-allowed cost share.
If your practice has charged members for PPE or any amount in excess of their defined cost-share, AgeWell New York must be notified and refunds must be processed to the members.
